‘What’s For You Won’t Pass You’ is the final chapter of Rachel Parris’s book ‘Advice From Strangers’, so taking over from Nish Kumar as the host of Late Night Mash is definitely for her and hasn’t passed her by.
Having been a regular on the show since it started on BBC in 2017 as The Mash Report, Parris will be joined by a different guest host for each episode when the Zeppotron produced series returns to Dave for an 8 week run this autumn according to Broadcast.
The comedian told Broadcast: ‘Mash, like a proverbial rash, keeps coming back just when you think we’re gone, and I’m proud to represent that irritation.”
In typical Parris style she added, “I’ll really miss working with my good friend Nish and giving him words of encouragement. I think he did really well and it will stand him in good stead to start his comedy career.’
The show moved to Dave after being cancelled by the BBC, amidst claims that director-general Tim Davie was appeasing right-wing critics angry at the show’s perceived satirical left-wing bias.
If you are unfamiliar with Parris’s inimitable style of satirical comedy you can find clips from the original BBC series on YouTube.
