Perfect Strangers, the sitcom starring Mark Linn-Baker and Bronson Pinchot, which ran for 151 episodes from 1986 -1993, is the latest classic comedy to get a reboot. Not just a reboot but a complete make-over – with Robin Thede and London Hughes set as leads.
In the original, an up-tight and cynical man’s life is never the same when his naive , laid back Greek cousin travels to America to live with him. The reboot will see perfect strangers, Deja, played by Thede, and Poppy, played by Hughes, who unexpectedly discover they are half-sisters when they both inherit a one-bedroom apartment above a yoga studio in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Polar opposites, they must learn how to live and work together.
The project, which is in development as a series at HBO Max, will be written by A Black Lady Sketch Show creator and star Thede.
