Starz has announced that Rosie O’Donnell will guest star on the upcoming comedy ‘Run the World,’ which premieres on May 16.
O’Donnell is set to play Dr. Nancy Josephson, a “brash, foul-mouthed therapist” that all four best friends discover they are all seeing. She is “a tough loving counselor that challenges the women to take ownership of their actions and acquire new tools for problem-solving.”
‘Run the World’ follows a group of smart, funny and vibrant 30-something Black women who live in Harlem and are navigating career highs and lows, hookups and heartbreaks, which “cause them to re-evaluate who they are and where they are going.”
The series stars Amber Stevens West as Whitney, Andrea Bordeaux as Ella, Bresha Webb as Renee, Corbin Reid as Sondi and Stephen Bishop as Matthew. “Run the World” was created, written and executive produced by Leigh Davenport for her Lionsgate TV-based SisterLee Productions. Yvette Lee Bowser serves as showrunner.
