Melissa McCarthy’s Superintelligence is her fourth collaboration with director husband Ben Falcone. It began with his feature directorial debut, 2014’s Tammy. After that it was The Boss and Life of the Party, and now they’re facing new challenges with their fourth film, Superintelligence.
The movie stars McCarthy as Carol Peters, a woman who abandons the world of corporate business in the hope of achieving a positive impact on the world. However, Carol isn’t exactly stepping up to the plate in a big way, and that’s why she’s targeted by a powerful AI (James Corden) trying to learn more about the human race; it picks her because Carol is average. Now, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance, Carol has just three days to prove to the AI that the human race is worth saving.
