
Schitt's Creek, which launched in 2015, won a record total of 7 Emmy’s yesterday including the best comedy Emmy, with the programme’s creators, father and son Eugene and Daniel Levy, collecting best comedy actor and best supporting comedy actor respectively. Catherine O'Hara was named best comedy actress, with Annie Murphy winning best supporting actress in a comedy series. In addition to the acting awards it also won outstanding directing for a comedy series for Andrew Cividino and Daniel Levy, who also won the award for outstanding writing for the finale episode Happy Ending. Schitt’s Creek follows the wealthy Rose family, who lose their fortune and are subsequently forced to live in a motel.
